book review

I’m halfway through “Cooling the Planet” by Jeff Goodell and am finding it pretty cool…pun intended.  The subtitle is “Geoengineering and the Audacious Quest to Fix Earth’s Climate.”  I think we should capture the CO2 at the sources, scrub out the carbon and turn it into nanotubes to make a space elevator or three, and return the oxygen to the atmosphere (but not at high enough levels to cause major fires).  But that’s just me.

  1. one interesting thing in the book is the mention of the Cloud Appreciation Society, a group in England that studies cloud types, unusual shapes, and other fun stuff for us weather buffs. check them out at
