Pestilent, Persistent Pesticide

Waste endosulfan has been on the EPA’s P-list forever, reserved for “acute” hazardous wastes, meaning extra-nasty.  It deserves to be banned worldwide, so sign the petition; I did.  http://www.care2.com/causes/environment/blog/an-old-pesticide-causing-new-problems/

It’s a teratogen, i.e., it causes birth defects.  That puts it high on my enemies list.  If we’re born with the right number of digits, we’re stock issue; standard-equipped to fend for ourselves in an environment where nature and techno-humans throw stuff at us.  On the other hand, if we’re born without the other hand, or suffer some other developmental indignity in the womb, we have less of a chance at a full life.  Let the UN know that it must go.
