More Species in Trouble

Thanks to Keith Bell for copying me on these articles on my Green Knight Facebook page. The white flag dolphin was cool, I’ll miss it. But if the black-footed ferret could reappear, anything’s possible. Something that interests me, as someone who’s been an amateur cetologist for decades, is the bit in the first article saying that the river (freshwater) dolphins evolved from oceangoing species. We always thought, in the old days, that they were more “primitive” types that hadn’t become acclimatized to salt water. Something of a reversal in our thinking; must investigate further.
